Day 1 Arrival in Srinagar; Drive to Kargil (via Drass)
Following your arrival in Srinagar, you will be warmly received by our expert tour guides and instructors. After having breakfast in the capital city of Jammu and Kashmir, you will be driven towards Sonamarg or the ‘Meadow of Gold’.
Explore the bountiful nature of Sonamarg while our tour guides will take you to some of the most scenic places in the Meadow of Gold. Post this, the journey will continue towards Kargil though Drass or the second coldest inhabited place in the world. As our convoy reached Kargil, you can enjoy astounding views of the Tiger Hill and Tololing. During the day, you will also be visiting the Vijay Smarak, where you can pay tribute to the martyrs of the Kargil War (1999); overnight stay will be arranged in a hotel in Kargil.
Day 2 Drive from Kargil to Leh (via Ule)
Waking up in the morning, embrace the pictorial views of the surrounding snow-clad peaks and scenic valley while enjoying a relishing breakfast. Post morning meal, you will be driven towards Ule; en route, you will be visiting Mulbrek, a statue of the Maitreya Buddha (future Buddha).
Hereafter, the journey will continue towards the 10th century Lamayuru Monastery, which is revered as the oldest monastery in Central Ladakh. Visit this pious place and adore its sanctity; from here, you can also enjoy gorgeous views of Moon Landscape.
After seeking blessings in the Lamayuru Monastery, the journey will take you towards the Alchi Monastery, the only monastery in Ladakh on a flatland that has been declared as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Advancing further on the journey, the drive will take you through the confluence point of the gurgling Zanskar and Indus rivers.
Other attractions of the day include Nimo Village, gravity defying Magnetic Hill and the holy Gurudwara Pathar Sahib. The drive will wind up with your arrival in Leh by late afternoon. Following your arrival, you will be checked-in into a hotel where you can relax and freshen up; enjoy the evening at leisure followed by overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 3 Sightseeing in Leh
This day will be reserved for a delightful sightseeing tour in Leh! Waking up early in the morning, munch on a delicious breakfast at the hotel, and get ready to embark on a local sightseeing tour. Following an early morning visit to Sangkar and Shanti Stupa atop a hill in Changspa, you will be visiting other tourist attractions as well. Leh Palace, the once an official residence of the royal families will be visited next.
After your encounter with the grandeurs of the past, you will be driven towards the Hall of Fame, a museum maintained by Indian Army. Returning from the sightseeing tour, laze around your hotel and get refreshed with panoramic views of the surroundings. Evening will be free for local shopping in Leh Market; overnight stay will be at the Leh hotel.
Day 4 Drive from Leh to Nubra Valley
Today, you will be enjoying one of the most captivating overland journeys of your Leh jeep safari. Today, after having breakfast in the hotel, the jeep safari will take you through the mighty Khardung La Pass (5,600m) and finally to the picturesque Nubra Valley.
During the course, you will get to revel in enchanting views of several Himalayan Ranges and pictorial valleys in Ladakh. Arriving in Nubra Valley by afternoon, you will be checked-in into tented camps. Unpack and relax in the tents before the safari drives you to the pious Diskit Monastery in the Diskit hamlet. Bask in the spirituality and tranquillity around the monastery, and return to the campsite for your overnight stay.
Day 5Drive from Nubra Valley to Leh
Today, the jeep safari will drive you back to the fascinating lands of Leh. Wake up early in the morning and feast on the delightful breakfast, and you will be driven to Sumur, where you can visit the Samstalinga Monastery and Panamik Sulphur Springs. Post lunch, pack your bags, and embark on your return journey to Leh; overnight stay will be arranged in a hotel.
Day 6 Drive from Leh to Pangong Tso Lake
While on a jeep safari in Leh, you will come across some of the magical wonders of Mother Nature; today will be such an auspicious day for you! Completing breakfast in the hotel, take your seat in the jeep as the safari convoy will drive you to the mesmeric Pangong Tso Lake (14,500ft) today!
The drive will pass through the towering Chang La Pass at an elevation of 17,350ft above the sea level. The third highest motorable pass in the world, this enthralling pass offers imposing views of the snow-clad peaks and pictorial meadows. Revel in these natural marvels and continue with your drive to the Pangong Tso Lake. Arriving at the lakeside by afternoon, you will be checked-in into a campsite. Post lunch, stroll around the lake and behold its magical beauty followed by overnight stay.
Day 7 Drive from Pangong Tso Lake to Leh
Today, you will be driven back to Leh. On you way back, you will be visiting the pious Hemis Monastery, which is one of the wealthiest and largest monasteries in Ladakh. Thiksey Monastery and the historic Shey Palace will also be visited during the day. Arriving in Leh, you will be checked into a hotel for your overnight stay.
Day 8 Departure from Leh
Today will be your last day in Leh; after having breakfast, you will be driven to the Leh Airport. With your drop at the airport, this exciting and memorable Srinagar-Leh Jeep Safari tour will come to an end!
