Day 1 Drive from Manali to Sarchu
The fun-frolic and revelry of Manali-Leh Jeep Safari tour will begin as our tour guides and representatives meet you in Manali. In case, you are scheduled to arrive in Manali today, they will receive you from airport or railway station.
Once you join our jeep safari convoy, the safari will head towards Sarchu through the majestic Rohtang Pass (3,790m). One of the highest motorable passes in the world, this towering pass is also called the ‘Gateway to Lahaul and Spiti’, and remains closed during the winters. Moving forward, the jeep safari will take you Marhi, where you can enjoy scenic views of the birch, fir and spruce forests.
Post this point, you will be driving through some of the most barren terrains of the Himalayan Ranges till you reach Khoshkar, the first hamlet on the way or the ‘Gateway to Lahaul’. Here onwards, the jeep convoy will move along banks of the gurgling Chandra River and will soon reach the confluence point of Chandra and Bhaga rivers by afternoon; this point is located in Keylong.
After reaching Keylong, there will be a small halt wherein you can have your lunch, and the drive will continue towards Darcha (3,500m) which is located at the junction of Yotche Nullah and Zangskarchhu. This region is one of the most sought after destinations for the trekkers who yearns to trek in the Valley or Leh region. Driving further, you will finally reach the Bara Lacha La Pass (4,980m) which will take you to Sarchu; overnight stay will be in Sarchu.
Day 2 Drive from Sarchu to Leh (via Nakeela)
Today, after breakfast in Sarchu, the jeep safari will take you through some of the most enthralling terrains in the Nakeela region till you reach Leh. The first feat of this exhilarating drive will be crossing the Lachung La Pass (16,617ft). Crossing this mighty pass, the convoy will stop in Pang for lunch; post lunch, it will head towards Skyangchu Thang, a plateau that stretches from around 42km.
The drive will continue through the upper reaches of Indus Valley, and you will be reaching Leh by evening. After checking-in into a local hotel and getting refreshed, you can take a short drive to Upsi upon crossing the Indus River. This drive is an important part of getting acclimatised to high altitude; overnight stay will be in the hotel.
Day 3 Sightseeing in Leh
After a delicious breakfast in the Leh hotel, get ready for an exciting sightseeing tour within the limits of Leh city. This fun-frolic tour will begin with a visit to Sangkar, and will take you further to Shanti Stupa in Changspa and Leh Palace which was once the royal residence of King Singge Namgyal.
Post lunch, this delightful Leh sightseeing tour will take you to the gravity defying Magnetic Hill, pious Gurudwara Pathar Sahib and the Indian Army’s museum called Hall of Fame. Confluence point of Zanskar and Indus rivers will also be visited before returning back to the hotel for your overnight stay.
Day 4 Drive from Leh to Nubra Valley
Today, your Manali to Leh Jeep Safari tour will take you to one of the most magical tourist destinations in Ladakh – the enchanting Nubra Valley! The drive will begin after your breakfast at the Leh hotel, and will take you through the mighty Khardung La Pass at 5,600m above the sea level.
Along the way, you will be rewarded with breath-taking views of the Himalayan Ranges and several scenic meadows. Arriving in Nubra Valley by late afternoon, you will be checked-in into a tented campsite. Post this, you will be taken for a visit to the sacred Diskit Monastery followed by an eventful strolling around the township. While in here, you can revel in the alluring charm of the Hunder sand dunes; overnight stay will be in the campsite.
Day 5 Drive from Nubra Valley to Leh
Today, after having your morning meal, you will be visiting the sacred Samstalinga Monastery and Panamik which is known for its natural sulphur springs. Post lunch, the jeep safari will turn back towards Leh; arriving in the city, you will be checked-in into a hotel for your overnight stay.
Day 6 Drive from Leh to Pangong Tso Lake
Today’s safari will take you to the magical Pangong Tso Lake (14,500ft)! Embark on this exciting and scenic journey after having breakfast in the Leh hotel, and you will be passing through the Chang La Pass which is situated 17,350ft above the sea level and is the third highest motorable pass in the world.
Following your mid-day arrival at Pangong Tso Lake, you will be checked-in into a tented campsite. The latter part of the day will be at leisure; you can explore the vicinity and behold the mesmerising beauty of this imposing lake; overnight stay will be in the campsite.
Day 7 Drive from Pangong Tso Lake to Leh
Today morning, after waking up amidst the untouched views of the Pangong Tso Lake, munch on a delicious breakfast and pack your bags as the jeep convoy will take you back to Leh. On your way, you will be visiting the sacred Hemis Monastery, Thiksey Monastery, the historic Shey Palace, and several pious temples in the region. As you arrive in Leh, you will be checked-in into a hotel for your overnight stay.
Day 8 Departure from Leh; End of Tour
Today, after waking up in the morning, pack your bags along with the exciting memories you had during your Manali to Leh Jeep Safari tour! Hereafter; following your breakfast, you will be dropped at the Leh Airport; with your drop, this amazing tour will come to an end.
